Our Community Involvement

At the Nanaimo Consulting Group, we encourage our principals to get involved in community. Here are some of the organizations we’re involved in:

Nanaimo Alano Club
The Nanaimo Alano Club plays a key role in post-addiction recovery services in British Columbia and beyond. The Club provides a safe, drug and alcohol-free gathering space that serves our community by providing support, information, resources and social opportunities. Tamara serves as a Director on the Board of Directors of the club.
Royal Canadian Legion
The Royal Canadian Legion is Canada’s largest Veteran support and community service organization. The Legion is a democratic, non-profit organization. Our members honour and support Veterans and serve as the cornerstone of communities across the country. Tamara is a proud Legion member and a volunteer bartender at both the Lantzville Legion (Branch 257) and the Nanaimo Mt. Benson Legion (Branch 256).
Nanaimo-Ladysmith Conservative Electoral District Association
Both Tamara and Martin are active members of the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Conservative Electoral District Association (EDA). Tamara and Martin both sit on the Board of Directors of the EDA, and Tamara is the Candidate of Record for the Conservative Party of Canada for the 2021 Federal Election.
Nanaimo Area Public Safety Association
Tamara is an active member of the Nanaimo Area Public Safety Association (NAPSA), and has spoken at several public safety rallies organized by NAPSA, including one in Nanaimo and another on the lawn of the BC Legislature in Victoria. She passionately believes that governments need to work together to solve complex interjurisdictional crises like the opioid crisis and the public safety, mental health and addictions issues that are affecting communities across Canada.
Nanaimo Newcomers Club
Tamara coordinates a Volunteer group at the Nanaimo Newcomers Club, which allows newcomers in Nanaimo to learn about the organizations that do good work in our community.
RISE Asset Development
Rise is a national organization dedicated to empowering people with mental health and addiction challenges to achieve greater social and economic inclusion through entrepreneurship. The organization provides micro loans to entrepreneurs. Martin sits on the Loan Review Committee and periodically mentors loan recipients.
